PEGGY ROWE HONORED WITH AWARD

The Sonoma County Historical Society awarded the Cloverdale Historical Society the Carmon Finley Historical Website Award for providing Sonoma County history information on our website. The award luncheon was on Saturday, March 1st, at 12:00 at the Los Robles Lodge. Peggy Rowe, our web master and award winner, attended the luncheon accompanied by Carl and Madeline, and accepted her award in person. We're proud of you, Peggy.

A note from Peggy:
I did this website because I wanted to.  Because I want to share where I live with the world.  Because I love history in general and how it helps us to learn more about who we are today when we look into our past.

Cloverdale is so beautiful and full of history. Our little museum in Cloverdale is just bursting at the seams with so many beautiful historical items, stories, pictures, and more.  I just wanted to help the museum share that history.  I want our young people to know how important their history is.

I am honored that I am being awarded for doing something so close to my heart, something that I love.
I thank Cloverdale Historical Society for letting me take on the project.  I thank Sonoma County Historical Society for the recognition.  This was like MY academy awards day!  I thank President, Carl Sealock for all his support and understanding.  I thank those who came before me.  These people did the really hard work of collecting the artifacts, completing the accessions forms, organizing it so that someone like me could make use of it. There are too many of these beautiful people to name but, I'm going to try:  Jack Howell, Louise Morris, Millie Laudie, Bob Laudie, Phyllis Hendrickson (nope, didn't know her, but she helped , with so much of the museum, I have such a wonderful collection to draw from) Less & Evelyn Herring, Marge Gray, Mary Z., Chris Haugsten, Frank & Karen Crivello, Sally Belford, Elizabeth Grange, Peg Walcutt.  This is not all of my 'extended family' at the historical society.

And, thank you to my family who must live with this all encompassing calling to pass on our histories.
I love you.  I love Cloverdale, and I love Sonoma County!
Peg
